Fybrel™ Polyolefin Synthetic Pulp

Fybrel™ (Polyolefin Synthetic Pulp), a Mitsui Chemicals Inc. novel creation, is a highly fibrillated fiber similar to wood pulp. There are three types available: Fybrel™ E and Fybrel™ UL, which are both made from polyethylene, and Type Y that is made from polypropylene. All are available in various grades in wet-lap (sheet) form.

Fybrel™ Polyolefin Synthetic Pulp Characteristics

Heat Sealability - A heat-sealable product can be obtained by mixing Fybrel™ with wood pulp in the papermaking process.
Excellent Thermal Moldability - Sheets containing Fybrel can be draw-formed, beautifully embossed, and heat printed. Calendering yields a product with an extremely smooth surface, and varying the heat and pressure can control permeability.
Water Resistance - Paper-containing Fybrel has improved resistance to water and also repels water better. Heat processing further enhances these characteristics.
Superb Dimensional Stability - Fybrel products have excellent dimensional stability due to their resistance to water.
Superior Resistance to Chemicals and Oils - Fybrel is a polyolefin, so it resists attack by almost all chemicals-including acids and alkalis-and is resistant to oils.
Outstanding Electrical Properties - Fybrel is an extremely good electrical insulator.
Filler Retention -The large surface area of Fybrel gives it the ability to trap powders such as cement particles.
Controlled Air Permeability - Changing the pore size of the highly fibrillated fibers can control the air permeability of Fybrel.
Non-halogenated emissions when disposed of by combustion
Superb electrical characteristics

Fybrel™ Polyolefin Synthetic Pulp Packaging

Fybrel™ is supplied in bales of approximately 75 cm (L) x 65 cm (W) x 60 cm (H) (E400). Each bale of Fybrel has a gross weight of about 210 kg and contains about 150 sheets, which are wrapped in PE film. Please refer to the formulation presented below to calculate air-dry weight, which is how Fybrel is sold.

Air-dry weight = gross weight x

Please note that if you were to purchase a 20-foot container, this would represent 72 bales or 12 pallets.
